Well researched, a bit dated but still worthwhile read

This impressive tome results from very extensive research in both newspapers and technical papers. The documents quoted extend back into the 1920s and 30s ( and perhaps earlier ).

The authors take roughly half the book covering Nazi experiments and operational planning. While much information seems to have been suppressed during the war ( and to this day ), there is obviously much available upon which to propound several theories. The two most important theories are: 1) there was extensive German research done concerning unique airframes and propulsion systems, and 2) that research was continued by Allied and Soviet governments well after the war ended, sometimes with the original German researchers.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone convinced that we are being visited by extraterrestrials, and not being duped by government incompetents.

This is the best book on "Man-Made" UFOs

Packed with illustrations, this is the best book on the unusual subject that many UFOs are part of a top-secret project that began during WWII. Vesco was an Italian aircraft engineer who knew what he was talking about. He claims that Foo Fighters were developed in Germany, as were "discoid" craft. These German scientists then were moved to New Mexico where they created the secret space program. This book will amaze the reader with many references and the history of Project Paperclip scientists and the genisis of "flying saucers" made on Earth by humans. I love this book!

A Truly Interesting Look at UFOs and Their Possible Origin

This title is an update of a book originally published in 1971 that was a real eye - opener for me. This updated version has all of the excitement of the first book plus new material. It is a well researched volume that gives what I believe is very good evidence that real UFOs are high - performance aircraft made here on Earth.

The book does not provide proof that real UFOs are manufactured here, but does provide historical information that points to a short period of incredible research and development from about 1938 to 1950. German scientists then were even better than many of us know, and most of us have known that they were extremely good. Apparently, Germany's super weapons which were under development in World War II had considerable basis in fact, and some of them observed by American pilots and bomber crews over Germany, were not only operational, but were effective. According to the authors, these weapons were subsequently further developed by the victors after the war and were made operational.

Well documented sightings such as the "Lubbock Lights" in the Texas panhandle and saucers (confirmed by radar) over Washington D.C. are among the most famous appearances described. The authors do a convincing job of giving reasons for UFO development, the basics of how they worked and how manufacturing could have been kept secret from the public. It is an impressive read.

Only buy it if it's required

This was a required text for a course I took for a graduate MPH program. This text is well-written but if you're looking for a easy read handbook for epidemiology for your own personal use, I would look for something else. If this is your textbook for your class then don't fret, it will do fine.

Love This Series!!

Alex: I love this author's writing style and found this book to be a wonderful start of a new series. Not knowing anything about hockey, I enjoyed the sports theme. Storyline was well written, touching, emotional and steamy hot. Alex is an intense sexy bad boy who has lost his love for hockey and has a kiss my a** attitude. He has a lot of built up aggression and his emotional scars from a rotten abusive childhood keep anyone from getting close to him. Sutton is so sweet and has a healing presence. She has been able to deal with her traumatic childhood as a counselor and helping others. Their characters fit and I felt Sutton made Alex a better man. Loved the passionate chemistry and connection between them. Would definitely recommend.

Garrett: One thing I love about this series is the characters are realistic and loveable. Storyline is well written, entertaining and so dang hot!! Ryker is sweet as honey and hot as a fireball. He’s a great goalie despite being a little older than the other guys and new on the Cold Fury hockey team and a loving father to his two girls taking charge of their care when his marriage split up. Gray Brannon is the new general manager for the Cold Fury. She knows her game when it comes to hockey and can be a hard a** if needed since she has to work harder to prove herself since she’s a woman. Ryker and Gray seem to hit it off as friends and secretly as lovers despite it being a conflict of interest that may come back to bite them in the behind. Their interests, personalities and mutual attraction along with their passionate chemistry just mesh well together making them easily a couple you root for everything to work out. Like real life though nothing is easy and there’s always a few little ripples in the road. Definitely a book I would recommend taking the time to read.

Zack: While I love this series and found this book really enjoyable, it wasn't my favorite in the series. Definitely worth reading. Zack knows loss and tragedy. While drowning in a sea of guilt and striving to pickup the pieces of life, he meets Kate his son's nanny. She's funny, geeky, outspoken and hides behind baggy clothes and big glasses. In a nutshell, she's adorable. The chemistry and interaction between them was intense and steamy. While Zack will pull at your heartstrings, he also makes you want to smack him. It's well written, emotional and funny.

Ryker: Storyline is well written, entertaining and so dang hot!! Ryker is sweet as honey and hot as a fireball. Highly recommended series!!!

ALEX: I love sports romance and Sawyer Bennett's players make up some of the best. Alex Crossman is best described by the Cold Fury hockey fans as MVP, most valuable prick. Yeah, he's that unpleasant. When he's forced to work with Sutton Price, by Cold Fury management, on an anti-drug abuse campaign, he's not happy. That is until he finds out that Sutton is a woman and a gorgeous one at that. Alex is not a relationship kind of guy but the longer he works with Sutton the more he's wanting things he's never wanted or had. If I didn't have more books to read in the series, I'd read this one again. I love it that much. Alex is a very complex man because of his upbringing. He's still living his life stuck in the past. Sutton has made her life very simple. She has dealt with her difficult past and moved on. Their journey is inspiring.

GARRETT: Garrett Samuelson, the king of one-night stands, sees a woman that completely takes his breath away. Olivia Case, Sutton's cousin, is a beautiful woman with major health issues. Though she turned him down the first time, she quickly changes her mind. Life is short and maybe even shorter for her, so why pass up the opportunity for an amazing one-night stand. But will one night be enough for Garrett? This is the second book in the Cold Fury Hockey Novel series and I am blown away! Such fantastic writing by Sawyer Bennett. This author took me to places I wasn't ready for but I'm so glad I went. There is more depth to Garrett than I imagined. He was a good guy before but now I might be a little in love. He's thoughtful, caring, sweet and romantic but behind closed doors, watch out! He is sexy as hell, he likes it how he likes it and makes no apologies for it. Behind all the beautiful people and amazing sex, the story is so touching. I laughed...a lot! There were some happy tears and many TRAGIC, so, so sad tears that were cried during this book. But most of all, the epilogue BLEW ME AWAY! When you get to the end, just before you read the epilogue, take a minute, breathe and then start reading again.

RYKER: Oh, what a beautiful man! He's gorgeous and after a crash course from Kate, he's great with his daughters. He's attentive and loves being in a relationship. Perfect! Of course he would want the one woman he can have. All of the books in the Cold Fury Hockey series are fabulous but "Ryker" is a masterpiece as a man and as a book. He's a good person. I love how he always thinks of Gray or his children first. He doesn't make rash decisions and has his life in order. When he loves, he loves with all that he is and is willing to make sacrifices for that love that no ordinary man would choose to make.

Sawyer is the master at writing hockey hotties!

I love Sawyer Bennett and her books. I've read them all. She's an amazing writer and I love that she has a new hockey series! This one is a very emotional read. Alex Crossman is an NHL hockey player with a major attitude problem. One bad enough to give him the name MVP - Most Valuable Prick. He's been mandated as the team spokesman for an anti-drug campaign working with a Drug Crisis Center for at-risk youth. He's cocky, arrogant and sure of himself until he meets Sutton. She's in charge of the campaign and they have an instant connection. He wants her. She's attracted to him. He thinks he can sweet talk her and he's shocked by her attitude. She calls him on all his crap and isn't afraid of him. They form a friendship and their attraction grows. Alex has a past that he just can't escape and he doesn't know how to handle his new feelings. Sutton also has a past, but she has found a way to overcome her obstacles. I love Sutton! She's feisty, hilarious, independent and sweet. Alex is sexy, intense and broody. When they come together it's explosive! I laughed, I cried, I yelled! This is a great start to a new series and I can't wait for Garrett's book!!

I don't know whether to have an orgasm or be pissed that he's walking in thirty minutes after our scheduled appointment.

As he draws even with me, he reaches his stick out and taps the glass right in front of my face. He then spins around on his skates, now gliding backward, shooting me a wink as he pulls father away.

I need to stop fantasizing about Alex and me naked, I practically shout to my v.

"You know you're extremely beautiful, but when you laugh you're just stunning."

"Because I want you so bad I can actually taste it. Now, we both know that's just my imagination on overdrive. So what I really want is the reality of your taste...on my tongue...my lips." He accentuates his seduction by grazing his teeth against my earlobe, and I swear a mini orgasm courses through me.

Garrett
Garrett is another hit from Sawyer Bennett. I absolutely loved him in Alex and couldn't wait for his story. I love Sawyer and have read all of her books. They are all so great in different ways and for different reasons. The writing is witty and emotional and always funny. She writes her main characters so that they are strong yet vulnerable. I just love them!
Garrett it a major player and never hits the same woman twice. It's his thing and he's known for it. But when he meets Sutton's cousin, Olivia, all bets are off. There's something about her that calls to him and he wants her, and no one is more surprised than him that he wants her for longer than one night. Olivia is attracted to Garrett, but she knows who he is. She's hiding something and it needs her undivided attention, but Garrett is a welcome distraction. Can she keep her heart out of it? Can Garrett convince her to take a chance on him? This is an emotional story about seeing past people's facades and letting them see you at your worst and your best. I can't wait for more!

Am I wrong to view Garrett Samuelson as a "juice goodness"? Am I a complete slut to even consider this?

The kiss is like lightning, lighting me up from within, and my entire body goes tight with need for this woman.

"You're the one that's stunning, Olivia. I can't wait to see if you taste as good as you look."

"M&M's…peanut, " I say distractedly.
"I like those too," he says quietly. "They're chocolaty and nutty. But then again, so is Snickers, plus it has extra gooey stuff in there."

Zack
I love this hockey series by Sawyer Bennett. First Alex, then Garrett and now Zack. Sawyer knows how to write hot, sexy men who are smart, alpha but caring and strong, and sassy leading ladies with substance. Sawyer is one of my go to authors. I have read all of her books and they are all amazing! Her writing is real, flawless and I can't get enough!
Zack gets his story after the tragic loss of his girlfriend and mother of his son. Oh Zack. My heart breaks for you. We meet up with Zack four months after the accident. He's back on the team after physical therapy, but he can't get over the guilt of losing Gina. He's looking for a way to feel again. Feel anything. His sister convinces him that he needs a nanny to care for Ben. When Zack meets Kate, he thinks she dorky and not very attractive, but after spending time with her, he realizes she's just hiding behind baggy clothes and big glasses to avoid being seen. Kate is young, but sassy, smart and dorky-funny. Ben instantly falls in love with her, but Zack is still being rude and mean. Until he sees her one night with her hair down and sexy pj's. He actually feels something. And, he's thrilled and upset and guilt ridden over it. But, he can't fight his attraction toward Kate. He wants her, but refuses to get involved past the physical. Will Zack be able to hold Kate at arm's length? Will Kate settle for just a physical relationship? Can they make it work before someone's heart breaks? I absolutely loved this story. The dynamic between Zack and Kate is hilarious and hot! I can't wait for Ryker's story!!

She was beyond extraordinary, but there was no way I could ever let her know that.

"Will a kiss make it better for you, Kate?"
He tastes my lips only and the world melts away. I wait for him to deepen the contact, but he doesn't seem to be in a rush.

"I don't want to have to gag you," I tell her with a grin.
She smiles big at me and whispers, "I'll behave."
"God, I hope not," I growl. "Just be quiet about it.

Ryker
I think I might have said that Zack was my favorite. I lied. Ryker is my favorite. He's sexy, sweet, smart, thoughtful, a loving father and a man built for relationships. He never wavers. Flat out admits that he's not a fling type of guy. If he hadn't had me at goalie, he would have had me at that. It's extremely refreshing to read a story where the man knows what he wants. He doesn't look at other women. He tells Gray exactly how he feels and does what he says he's going to do. He's older and wiser. A great friend, a team player and a dirty talking man. When Gray, the woman that scouted him for the Cold Fury, gets promoted to GM, he can't help his attraction to her. It has bad news written all over it, but he doesn't care. He wants her and he's going to prove to her that it's not just for one night. Gray is independent, tough, intelligent, sexy and sure of herself. She knows she will be a great GM, but dating Ryker could ruin what she's built. Is it worth the risk? Do you have to choose your career over love? Man oh man. These two are hot! I just love everything about them. They are strong, smart, sexy, goalies and perfect for each other. The yoga class is one of my favorite scenes!! Sawyer knows how to write kick ass leading ladies, scorching hot leading men and hockey!

"I'm doing what feels right to me. You feel right to me."

"You're wrong about one thing. A fling wouldn't be difficult, because it would be quick and secretive and over probably as soon as it started. You'd have little risk of being caught. But I don't do flings. You would be way more than a fling to me."

"I'd like to be around you even if you didn't do magical things to me with your p."
"And my hands and mouth," I remind her.

Add this reference book to your library of Propeller programming guides, but don't qualify it as the "official guide"

An adequate reference from the development group and authors at Parallax, this book serves to enable proficient programming of the powerful,8-cog Propeller microcontroller chip. Don't expect too much theory-based material, as the reference book is meant to be more of a practical reference. Therein lies its weakness. More theory would have helped to clarify many of the cloudy topics presented. One example of this glaring oversight comes to mind. The Propeller is capable of analog-to-digital conversion via an onboard converter, yet the author fails to expound on the characteristic, and instead recommends an ancillary discrete device, the MCP3208, for analog-to-digital conversions. There is even a building block object for the MCP3208 to facilitate interfacing with the Propeller. Why? Is there a problem with the internal Propeller's ADC? I was led to believe so. On the other hand, the experimenter will find an abundance of practical examples that can be readily implemented. In summation, my goal was to learn Propeller programming, and I did, but I was forced to search other references in my endeavors to achieve that goal.

Programming and Customizing the Multicore Propeller Microcontroller

As a beginner to electronics with limited hobby level experience in programming computers, I am very impressed with "Programming and Customizing the Multicore Propeller Microcontroller." The book begins with a description of the multicore Propeller and an introduction to the Spin language used to program it. Debugging tools and practices are discussed followed by an overview of sensor basics with examples. Eight interesting projects fill the remainder of the book, with topics ranging from a balancing robot to an HVAC green house model. My favorite project is the chapter on wirelessly networking Propeller chips. In this chapter we are taken through the steps required to wirelessly network a robot with a compass and a PING))) ultrasonic sensor, an accelerometer/inclinometer, and a display. The communication is provided via XBee 802.15.4 modem/transceivers. The final result is a robot that can follow a heading, turn based on wireless input from an accelerometer board (steering wheel), and wirelessly transmit useful information back to the tv display, such as bearing, distance to objects, bar indicators for drives, and signal strength.

Anyone from beginner to advanced skill levels will find this book educational, interesting, and engaging.

Okay - I am a Hobbiest, but I do have some cool goals for this year using the propeller. The biggest problem I have is I really like practical examples. I bought this book thinking it would just be a good reference, and yes it does show you lots of practical things you can do with a Propeller. Fortunately for me, this is not a reference book after-all. You will find things for the absolute beginner, and all the way to the "Mad Scientists." I was surprized to see how I really wanted to read this book in a 'linear' form! This was not a book on tips and tricks. This is classroom material, with labs to be done! Fun, and crazy things to do at that. Looking for a better understanding of sensors - sure it's here, but that's just the surface. I realy like the way this book has been set-up with a backbone of understanding approach. You can skip ahead to see some really cool projects and the thinking process of how to do them, but you are doing yourself an injustice to skim the first parts. The Propeller is a different type of microcontroller and it has some way cool techniques to things so I appreciated the extra time put in this book for all the notes and extra care to really help explain all these crazy cool options.

Overall - I am very pleased with the book, and I wish this was the book I first was able to pick up when I started working on the Propeller. The forums are nice but this would have answered a ton of questions I had when I started. There are still lots of material in this book that is crazy cool and beyond my scope of projects and current understanding, but it's nice to know thats there when get to that level.
