About the Author
Steven H. Weintraub is a Professor of Mathematics at Lehigh University. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, spent many years at Louisiana State University, and has been at Lehigh since 2001. He has visited UCLA, Rutgers, Oxford, Yale, Gottingen, Bayreuth, and Hannover. Professor Weintraub is a member of the American Mathematical Society and currently serves as an Associate Secretary of the AMS. He has written more than 50 research papers on a wide variety of mathematical subjects, and ten other books.

About the Author
John E. Branscum grew up in the small-town trailer parks and inner-city housing projects of Kentucky, Arkansas, and California. He is currently a professor of creative writing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs pedagogy committee, and text editor for Black and Grey Magazine. He is the recipient of the national Ursula K. Le Guin Award for Imaginative Fiction, several Academy of American Poets awards, and has made appearances in Best American Non-required Reading, and Best American Horror.

Wayne Thomas is the author of plays, fiction, and essays. He teaches creative writing at Tusculum College, a small school located in the northeast Tennessee mountains. He is editor of The Tusculum Review.

Stopping terrorism in its tracks

This should be read in tandem with "Victory Before War," as it provides the depth of coverage on the studies of group practice of the TM-Sidhis program to which VBW alludes. Both these books are so overwhelmingly convincing about the power of higher consciousness to achieve harmony throughout the world--the science is absolutely incontrovertible, having been published and approved by peer review in the most respected scientific journals. There is no refuting the ability to create peace-creating groups throughout the world who will practice these technologies and create peace by doing so. Everyone who has ever despaired of feeling helpless to bring about changes to make the world a better place will find the blueprint for doing so in this incredible book.

Greater compassion required in America for immigrants

Reading Melissa Fleming’s book about the challenges Doaa faced in fleeing violence in Syria comes at an interesting time with Trump blocking immigration for Syrian refugees after they go through a 2 year screening to eliminate potential terrorists. (Doaa’s story is not about getting into the USA, but a safe passage to Europe). Naturally we have all heard about the plight of the Syrians, but only after you take the time to understand what Assad has done to his people do you get the full understanding of why Assad needs to be taken out, or face crimes against humanity. And to think that he was educate in the UK! My hope is that by reading Doaa’s account, Americans will have a greater degree of compassion for immigrants from war torn countries, or those ruled by despots. For the record, I am an immigrant having arrived in the US 30 years ago. I understand the challenge of settling into a new society, even though my home language is English.

If you are looking for a book that poignantly captures one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time through the lens of one young Syrian refugee's experience - this is the book for you. A powerful story of both loss and hope, it's as heart wrenching as it is uplifting. Also a page turner, I couldn't put it down. Beautiful book.

Great Aid for a GC

I work in construction management and have a Civil Engineering degree. Got a position as a MEP Super and realized I didn't know what I was really doing. I had some MEP experience but this book filled in a ton of the gaps. I was finally able to really understand and manage my subs. I don't think that project would have gone nearly as well if I didn't read this book cover to cover. It is not as detailed as some people would like but it gives you a great understanding of building systems and the future of their automation.

This is a good book for someone who is in the large building engineering trade. Some of the HVAC and plumbing stuff was basic but all of it is good. Good ddc stuff is hard to find and this helps, thanks.

a good number of positives

I received this book as scheduled. As a used book, it is quite new. For the book itself, a good number of positives: the quality of the paper, the illustrations are in color and of high quality and the layouts/presentations are very, very good. In summary, a valuable addition to my library.

Best automotive book I've ever read

Better than any ASE test book, better than a Mitchell manual, this book starts from the basics and you learn how everything works from the inside out. Full of diagnostic tips you don't find in most books, telling you how to use the most simple of tools to test the electronic systems with ease and accuracy. THIS IS ONE SUPER BOOK FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO UNDERSTAND THE MODERN ELECTRONIC AUTOMOBILE WITHOUT A HARVARD DEGREE IN ELECTRONICS !

Automotive Electrical Systems

I use Halderman's book as the primary source in automotive electrical training in a classrom setting. ASE study guides are good for revue but presume knowledge of the subject. OEM training materials that I have used are either too basic (Mister Electron) or too specific (GM CS alternators).
