I'd been wanting to improve my 3/4 playing for sometime.While navigating drum books on Amazon I came across Andy Ziker's "The Jazz Waltz". OMG is all I can say about it!! Andy's come up with an incredible amount of patterns/combinations to master.This book will stretch your 3/4 Jazz drumming significantly plus your independence capabilities.Truthfully, the one measure long examples will humble you...IN A GOOD WAY! This isn't a book you can just blow through turning page after page.I practice from this book a few times daily.I look forward to my time in my drum room a lot more thanks to this publication..carry on-TR

In addition to numerous independence and soloing exercises, including a section on brushes, the book also includes a generous selection of soloing and time-keeping transcriptions from a wide variety of jazz greats. First redefine success to make it more than money or fame. Then follow the steps of this book step by step.

I love this book

Fantastic book and one of the best books I have read on the topic of success

Does a great job at breaking down all the key areas for success. From the mental to the physical and covering the importance of setting new habits. I liked the fact the book explained a topic, broke down the benefits then showed how to put it into action.

My personal favourite things was at the end where the book showed you how to put all the tips into 1 morning ritual, giving me maximum benefits.

A great little inspiring and motivational read! So true and spot on with how we live life. We need to change our mindset in order to truly find happiness, and this amazing little book helps you begin this, helps you learn how to start thinking positively and changing your outlook to a more successful one. Happiness is all in the mind sometimes, and we just need to change our thoughts, set goals and have a great outlook on life!
Definitely recommend this book for anyone needing a kickstart. We all want a fulfilling life, and here's a great key to getting it!

Bear It All by Rochelle Paige is the second installment of the McMahon Clan Series, a spinoff to the Black River Pack Series. In Bear It All, Ms. Paige writes a shifter paranormal romance that involves what else but a bear. The McMahon clan consist of a papa bear and a triplet of brothers. Braden happens to be the middle child and has been on the hunt for the person responsible for wanting to kidnap his half-sister and niece. What Braden didn't expect was that his hunt would lead him to his mate, a lioness named Thalia Griffin.

The Shifter Council has asked Thalia for a favor. And this favor involves putting her skills and assets to use. Well as it turns out, her years of dancing paid off when she was asked to work at the Honey Pot as a stripper. Her job required her to put her keen sense, observation, and feline temptation to use as she lures out the person responsible for the kidnapping plot. What Thalia didn't expect was Braden McMahon. When Braden laid his eyes on Thalia, it was over. Thalia knew she was done for it. Her mate found her. The sparks and connections was already forming. And soon Braden makes it known, that no one will be seeing his gorgeous mate's naked body any longer. A few days into getting to know what makes his mate's purr, will Thalia be distracted from her mission as Braden bears it all?

As always, Ms. Paige delivers a fun sexy suspenseful read!!! This quick read will make you purr and growl in satisfaction as a bear and lioness bare it all to each other. So if you love those possessive alpha males with a heart of gold, then I would recommend you to read Bare It All. I can't wait what Rochelle has in store for the last remaining McMahon brother.

ARC REVIEW, love this series, love these bears

Rochelle Paige paranormals are some of my favorites. Bear it All is book two of the McMahon Clan series a spin off of The Black River Pack series. I highly recommend these. They are absorbing, they pull me in. The narrative is first person POV from both Tahlia and Braden and done in such a way it feels like they really are sharing their story with you. The prologue is a great reminder of what has happened and introduction and a brief get to know you for Tahlia.

Tahlia is a lion shifter and from a young age her mother has been training her in just about everything. She gets so good that she catches the eye of the Shifter Council and is asked be an enforcer. She is good at what she does and she earns the respect of the Council members. When Councilmen McMahon needs the help of someone on the outside of his clan he asks Tahlia. Tahlia almost said no but when she heard why she couldn't refuse, only this case is lasting a whole lot longer than any of them thought and being a stripper is not Tahlia's idea of an ideal job. Finally after three months she has some useful information.

Braden has been working almost nonstop with his father trying to track down the people behind the attempted murder of Braden's sister and attempted kidnapping of his niece. So far none of the leads has panned out until his father calls him up and explains he has a person on the inside. He has placed someone at one of the Honey Pot locations to see if they can hear anything. Braden never expected to suddenly find his mate on stage taking her clothes off, even worse is that she is the inside informant his father placed there and that he almost blew her cover.

Tahlia knows that one of her "fans" has been asking specific questions about the McMahon clan, she figures he must have some knowledge. She also know that he is going to come in on her next day to see her. So now they have three days to set up a way to trap him and get the information needed. That's three days Braden and Tahlia have to get to know each other, but they can't claim each other as mates yet, because if this "fan" is a shifter then he would be able to tell immediately. But just because they can't claim each other doesn't mean they will keep their hands off each other.

Overall this was a great book, it was hot and exciting. I have loved all of them.

Another Sexy Shifter Read from Rochelle Paige

I can’t get enough of Rochelle Paige’s shifter series; they’re fast paced, sexy, suspenseful, and they always illustrate the significance of finding one’s mate and the effects the mating has on the couples’ lives.

Bear It All is the perfect name for Braden and Thalia’s story. Thalia may bare her skin for her undercover mission as a stripper, but the true meaning of the title signifies both Braden and Thalia’s need to give themselves over to one another without compromising Thalia’s plan to take down the people responsible for the kidnapping attempt of Braden’s sister and niece as well as soothe the beast inside Braden – the one that wants to claim his mate and protect her from danger, baring his possessiveness of his lioness.

The instant connection between Braden and Thalia proves how strong the pull is once they sense their true mate and the way they possess each other between the sheets also demonstrates that fate did well by putting them together. And while Braden and Thalia’s mating goes a lot quicker than some of the other couples from both of Paige’s paranormal series, there’s still obstacles for them to overcome and a give and take perspective to understand because Thalia has been a fiercely independent lioness, working undercover for the past five years, and she can’t easily bow down to her mate or simply give in to what he demands because she’s been raised to take care of and defend herself, so while she wants to claim Braden as her mate, she also wants to ensure that he sees her as a strong and determined woman all on her own.

There’s one McMahon brother left, so it will be interesting to see how Paige leads him to his mate and what external factors will attempt to stand in his way.

Great read

An interesting book with a wide range of themes covering topics on Greek philosophy. The material on Plato was interesting, along with an assortment of philosophers, some of which were new to me. The second section of the book was broader in perspective, covering topics like religion and film. Some interesting book reviews also. All in all a well-rounded presentation.

Get a pulse on the new generation

It's hard to believe someone as young as Vivek has put together such a well written book that combines anecdotes and research to provide the older generation with insight into generation Z. I'll admit I often have to ask my 12 year old how to do something on the Iphone, but now I understand more fully HOW and WHY this generation deals with technology on a day by day basis and what makes them tick. His style reminds me of Malcolm Gladwell - very readable and engaging. Kudos to Mr. Pandit for producing such a succinct study on the next generation.

The author did a good job of explaining what's different about Generation Z, and why they think differently than other generations. Personal anecdotes are supported by research studies to illustrate the impact that this generation is having on society. Unlike other books about Gen Z that have a marketing angle, this book covers topics as diverse as Gen Z's views on competition vs collaboration, technology and identity development, education, science, politics, and privacy. I have two children in high school, and feel better about their future after reading this book!

As a mother of a 17 year old girl who will be graduating from high school as well as someone who deals with the general public, I was excited to hear about this book. After reading it, I found myself pleasantly impressed with this young man's insight, research and one-on-one interviews with
his peers. Vivek has done a great job in helping us older folks understand this new generation. I am very glad he sees great things can be
accomplished by sticking together. And what is more is that he convinced me that Generation Z will produce more because of self discovery.

The book begins with the basics of the physical chemistry of liquid-gas and liquid-solid interfaces, including electro-chemistry, long-range forces, and the various methods of spectroscopic and structural study of surfaces. These are followed by descriptive treatments of topics such as friction, lubrication, adhesion and emulsion, foams, and aerosols. Closing chapters present a quantitative approach to physical and chemical adsorption of vapors and gases as well as heterogeneous catalysis.

For senior-level undergraduates and graduate students, each chapter presents the basic surface chemistry of the topics with full derivations, end-of-chapter problems, and reviews of recent advances. This book is also an excellent reference for professional chemists interested in applying surface chemistry to their work.

The new edition is a lot worse than the earlier editions

I have found the book very difficult to follow. The book reads more like a research paper than a textbook, in both style and content (for example, there are too many references, most of which are completely unnecesary). Many symbols are left undefined. There are many gaps in the derivations. Many concepts (e.g. the Maragoni effect) are introduced out of proper context. I would not recommend it to anybody. Get an earlier edition if you can.

Good in Some Respects, Disappointing in Others

The latest edition of this wellknown book continues its past tradition in every respect. Although claimed to be a textbook, it is best as a source of references and a compendium of advances in physical chemistry of surfaces. Certain chapters (e.g., surface tension) are good enough for use in classroom, but others are very superficial and very disappointing. It is clear that neither the senior author nor the new one is an expert in most of the topics covered in the book. It appears that they have simply collected references from the literature (quite indiscriminately in many cases) and have attempted to summarize the results. It is still a good book to have, especially since no one else has bothered to write a fairly comprehensive book on the topic. For those interested in the 'dry' side of surface science, Somarjai's volume is superior to this one.

Excellent overview or starting point

How useful and valuable this book is largely depends on what you expect from it. This book provies an overview of the extremely broad field of surface chemistry. As a starting point to learning about that field, this book is excellent. There is validity to the criticisms offered by some other reviewers of this text. The derivations often don't give enough detail and there's not much help in the way of example problems, which can make it difficult for the student to use in a classroom setting. Do not expect extremely detailed and thorough treatments of any particular area of surface chemistry. Nearly any chapter in this book could (and does) have entire texts (and courses) devoted exclusively to that one subject. What you can expect from this book is an introduction to the key areas of surface chemistry. The book is loaded with references to point the interested reader in the right direction for more detailed and thorough treatments of the variety of different areas of surface chemistry. For this reason, I have found it to be a good starting point for learning more about several subjects. In short, this book is excellent if you want a broad overview of the field or need a place to start learning about a particular area of surface chemistry. It's not worth much if you are looking for extremely in depth, thorough treatments of specific areas of surface chemistry.
