cute Japanese collage works

There are lots of cute Japanese-style collages in this mixed-media collage sourcebook. It's not a how-to book, there are no instructions on creating the works featured but there are interviews with the artists, who are asked for pointers on selecting materials and for their secret to making a good collage.
The collages are beautifully photographed and presented, making the book an appealing visual feast. The only minus for me is that the pieces are not really varied. The artists are Japanese, and the style is distinctly Japanese: light, use of lots of bright and pastel colors, as well as plenty of washi tape.
Most of the collages involve crafting with paper and found paper products, but there are also examples of working with other materials like fabric, beads, trims and lace. The items featured include matchboxes, framed art, tags, packaging, book and album covers and cards. I would like to have seen some more comprehensive works like art journals though. Still, a very pretty book overall.

Pretty objects made with recycled packaging and more!

I love the aesthetics of this book. The gist of it is to show how combining recycled packaging and every paper goods can be collaged together to make pretty art, gift wrap, office supplies and lots of pretty things. I think the most unexpected project was to decupage the wooden handle of a wide flat paint brush.

very elementary

This book is very elementary....things one would have learned in grade school. Projects are basic. I was looking for a technique book that would work for professional collages...not crafty projects.
