Fast-paced thrill ride, a fitting end to the trilogy

Just finished Scars and Stripes last night. Of the three books in this series, I'd say Ever Hayes saved the best for last. I really liked the first two books A LOT, but I loved this one. It was a very fast read, and I liked the way he began this installment to a) help readers remember where the last book left off, and b) efficiently set the stage for the action to come. It's hard to write a review with no spoilers, but let's just say Ever found a way to take the one thing (okay, person) I really didn't like about the second book, and totally turn that on its head. The whole book was filled with interesting twists and turns, right up to the end. His use of multiple narrators helps move the story forward on many levels.
For those who have read the first two books, you know Ever likes to draft his dream cast for which actors and actresses would fill these roles should the books get turned into movies. It's a fun addition to the books, and I've gotten a kick out of seeing how his dream cast has evolved. Admittedly I recognized fewer of the names this time around, but some quick Google images searches filled in the blanks for me. I don't often read a book that I think would make a great movie, but I agree this series would work extraordinarily well on the big screen.
Kudos to Ever Hayes for a fantastic book! I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to Danny, Hayley and the rest of the crew.

Great story!

What do you say about the end of America? It was great? I loved it? Not really appropriate things to say about the event. But about the three books in this series? Absolutely!
The story starts in Minnesota with Ryan Miner and his two grown children, Danny and Hayley. Also Danny's best friend Cameron and his girlfriend Jenna and Danny's girlfriend Kate. The two guys were Marines, home on leave for a few days. They had all gone to remote cabin where Ryan had lived for the past four years since he had buried his wife there.
The first time they went into town they found every one dead. And that started their adventure! Traveling from remote Minnesota to California and on to Hawaii through enemy territory was an adventure but only the beginning
The three books in this series are a must read for anyone who loves action, adventure, mystery, romance, a little sci-fi , and just plain great writing. I learned to really care for all the main characters and really dislike some others. I laughed with them and cried with them and cheered and jeered.
All in all a really great read. I am looking forward to reading more by this author. He writes a really good story.

Amazing! A MUST read!!!

Thank you Ever N Hayes for the journey this trilogy has given me. You had me laughing, crying, angry, surprised and happy all at the same time! So sad to see the series come to an end but what a perfect way to bring it to a close. I look forward to reading your future books!
