About the Author
Kevin Kantor is a spoken word poet, teaching artist, and queer agent for social change from Chicago and the founder of Greeley, Colorado’s SOAPbox SLAM! Kevin was the coach and a competing member of the University Of Northern Colorado’s 2014 and 2015 CUPSI Teams, both of which placed in Semi-Finals. At CUPSI 2015, he was awarded “Best of The Rest” and “Best Persona Poem.” Kevin was also a member of the 2012 Denver Minor Disturbance Poetry Slam Team, which took 1st in the world at Brave New Voices in Oakland, California. He has opened for internationally recognized poets such as Andrea Gibson, Buddy Wakefield, Carlos Andres Gomez, and Ken Arkind. His work explores young adulthood, loss, living and loving while queer, and poetry for the Millennial Generation (emojis not included). Kevin’s recent work has garnered global attention and been featured on media outlets such as The Huffington Post, Upworthy, Buzzfeed, The Independent, and more.

A purchase worth more that 12 dollars, Kevin is a one of kind read

When I had the privilege of hearing this poet read I found his personality inspiring; the genuine combination of comedic wit and fearless vulnerability brought me to purchase "Endowing Vegetables Too Much Meaning". I was not disappointed, Kevin writes as well as he performs. This collection spins some of life's hardest realities, gives them bite and truth, and for some a moment to accept the hard with a side of laughter, as the title implies. Thorns may be my favorite, its poetic unapologetic acknowledgment of feeling a lot all the time, and the lost feeling that can happen when one doesn't know quite what to do with it, can never be matched by the pain and anger of being told you are something some fears. Kevin has a true gift with words and a clear voice speaking truth. I highly recommend this collection. It will complaint days you need a pick me up,or a shoulder lean and relate too, and the days you hold the hard s*** alone; Kevin will hold it with you. Buy the book, it wont disappoint and is most certainly is endowed with much meaning ;)
